Sensitive skin and skin allergies. The need to be extra mindful of your laundry habits and the laundry products you’re using makes the chore, even more of a chore! An allergic reaction to your laundry products could cause itching, scratching, and red rashes that might lead to severe complications.
The good news is that keeping your clothes bright and clean while protecting your skin doesn’t need to be complicated.
If you have sensitive skin, here's some laundry tips for you:
1. Use the right amount of detergent
Residue is a major issue for people with sensitive skin. Using an appropriate amount of laundry detergent can help avoid complications from severe allergies. Be sure to always check the recommended dosage of the product you’re using, we recommend 20g per load with a front loader but you can use as little as 10g depending on the type of load. It will also help if you test different amounts until you find out the right dosage that doesn’t irritate your family’s skin.
It is also helpful to use laundry products that are 100% soluble. 100% soluble means that the product completely dissolves, leaving no residue on your laundry. Find our 100% soluble laundry products here.
2. Choose hypoallergenic products
Laundry products can easily irritate sensitive skin and cause allergic reaction, especially supermarket products. If you have a history of eczema, it’s best to look for laundry products with low allergens. Eczema can get so severe that it causes itchy, stinging blisters to appear on the skin.
