Laundry Tips to Make Your Clothes Last Longer

1. Treat stains promptly and correctly. 

Whether you like it or not, at some point you are going to get a stain on your clothes. Stains are pesky little beasties and can come from various sources – especially that delicious Spaghetti Bolognese you made for dinner. We know first-hand that is not fun to remove a stain as they are known for being notoriously difficult to remove.

The trick is to treat the stain as quickly as possible (limiting the amount of time the stain sits on the fabric will determine how easy it will be to remove). Always check the label or care instructions for fabric information and recommended care techniques.

Best products to use:

• Euca Soaker Laundry Brightener – Use this not just to brighten up your fabrics but also as an overnight soaker to remove stains. Pour a small amount on stain and leave, then soak for about 10 to 30 minutes before loading in the washer.
• Euca’s Natural Pre-Wash Stain Remover - For lighter stains, spray onto the affected area before popping the item into the wash. For stubborn stains, pour a small amount into a sink and soak your garment in warm water before loading it into the wash. You can also directly apply it around the collars and sleeves to effectively remove dirt. 2. Use the right wash temperature and cycle. 

Different fabrics necessitate different temperature settings and cycles when it comes to cleaning. Each item in your wardrobe comes with a care label explaining how to wash it properly. Read the care instructions thoroughly before putting them into the washing machine.

It is typically safe to wash them in hot water for light-coloured clothes. Whereas dark- coloured and cotton-based clothes are usually recommended to be washed in a cold setting, as it doesn’t harm the fabric and prevents the colours from fading.

3. Go easy with laundry powder and detergent

More is not always better when it comes to how much laundry powder and detergent to use. The more you use, the more damage you could be causing to your garments as well as your washing machine – as not all laundry products are soluble. Many commercial brands can leave residue on your clothes, making them look dull and stiff.

4. Always sort your laundry

5. Wash your clothes inside out.

Another important technique for keeping your printed and designed clothes from cracking is to wash them inside out. This one is super simple; all you need to do is ensure the garment is turned inside out before popping them into the wash. 

6. Keep your clothes soft and smell fresh

When it comes to laundry, fabric softener is your best friend! Our clothes tend to lose their natural softness as we wash them time and time again.  

Fabric softener is an easy and effective solution for keeping your fabrics soft, odour, and wrinkle-free. It also helps to minimise the buildup of friction between fibres, resulting in less static cling and a longer lifespan for your apparel.
